Employers and Community Members

JumpStart provides paid work experiences to youth looking to gain job skills in certain fields

What to expect

  • JumpStart pays eligible youth wages and payroll taxes while taking on an internship in local business or organization

  • Partners will provide a meaningful work experience to youth to improve their work-readiness skills and introduce youth to best-practices within the organization and industry

  • Managers are asked to treat the youth as a “real” employee

  • Career Advisor will check-in to ensure that expectations are being met

  • Experiences are typically 15-20 hours per week, for a total of 120 hours
